Her dog training experience began like most other new dog owners-with the arrival of a new puppy. Unsure of what to do with a shy four month-old American Bulldog puppy, she enrolled at 4 Paws University on the recommendation of a friend. Owning a puppy that would soon outweigh her, Mary sought to learn everything possible about dog training and dog behavior.
The arrival of a Pug puppy two months later forced Mary to go through a crash course in managing a multi-dog household while also finding time to give each dog the proper training.
She began as an assistant trainer with 4Paws University in 2005 and the hands-on experience, along with the continuing education through seminars held by the top behaviorists and trainers in the country allows her to further her dog training skills.
Mary's experience with her own two dogs has allowed her to develop exceptional skills in dealing with shy, introverted dogs as well as those with short attention spans.
Mary is an associate member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and is currently working toward certification with both organizations.
Mary is on a brief hiatus from 4Paws for the Summer of 2008. We look forward to her return!
